Drawing children and adult coloring books is a totally different type of art. The publisher would assign tasks and style guides and then I would use my imagination to fit it all on the page. Originally, I drew them in pencil then inked over them. Now I draw them on a computer using a stylus on a screen. 

There is a popular misconception that the computer does the drawing. It takes an artist who can do detailed work and make it fit page after page. The best part of drawing the coloring books was knowing that little kids were coloring my pages and having fun!
