FAQ Wedding & Event Paintings

 

Q- What can Jess paint at my event? 

A- When you call, we will ask what your vision is of the painting. We can offer suggestions and show you images of Jess’ past event paintings to spark inspiration. Whether you want a portrait of one person, a couple, the entire bridal party, or even include pets, we can accommodate your preferences!

Q- What poses will Jess paint? 

A- The choice is yours! For a couple’s painting, you might choose a wedding dip, first kiss, first look, a tender gaze, or holding hands while looking at the viewer. Pick a pose that reflects your personalities. You can decide on poses any time before the wedding and practicing at home can be helpful. Have a friend take a few photos of you trying different poses to see how you look. On your wedding day he’ll photograph you in your chosen position.

Q-  What will be in the paintings background?

A- Select a location at the venue for the background. Jess will make his best artistic suggestion. He arrives early to survey to scout the location. Jess suggests outdoor nature for the most beautiful, romantic backdrop. For example, gardens, oceans, fountains, mountains and trees. His painting style is influenced by classic romance novel covers and renaissance art.

Q-  What do you require from the venue for your work area?

A- For indoor painting a 6’ x 6’ space, an electrical outlet and a chair.

For outdoor painting an 8’ x 8’ space, an electrical outlet and a chair. He will bring a white canopy to paint under as the sun moves and changes the lighting.

Q-  What do paintings cost?

A- Wedding and Event Packages.

Package #1 has size and price options for 1 – 2 people.

Packages #2 and #3 have size and price options for 3-4 people and more up to 16 people/animals.

Q-  If Jess is unavailable on our event date, can we still get a painting? 

A- Yes!  Since we only have one artist, he is sometimes already booked on a given date. Many of Jess’ paintings are done in his art studio, then shipped to his customers. Just email a clear, high-resolution photo of what you would like painted, and he will create a painting just as beautiful as if he painting at your wedding! This option includes a substantial discount. Please call to inquire.

Q-  What materials are used for the painting? 

A-   The paintings are created with high quality non-toxic oil paint on high-quality canvas with wooden stretchers. They are gallery-wrapped, meaning the sides are painted.  See Jess holding one below.

Q- How long does it take Jess to capture his photo reference? 

A-  He requires just 15 minutes with the subjects posing for reference photos.

Q- Does he complete the painting at the event? 

A- The final painting is done in the studio. 

Q-  When and how is the painting delivered? 

A- Paintings typically take 4-6 months to complete. Once ready, we'll either hand-deliver your artwork or ship it via FedEx in a specially designed paint box, depending on your location.

Q- Are there videos of Jess painting?

Q- How do I place an order?
